Kobe Bryant turned in one of the best NBA Finals performances of his career in Game 1 of the 2009 series against the Orlando Magic, and now the jersey he wore can be yours.
As long as you have more than a million dollars to spare.
Sotheby's listed the jersey—which is "accompanied by a photomatch letter from The MeiGray Group, having originally been sold by the National Basketball Association"—for sale through an auction that closes on April 10 at 4:01 p.m. ET.
As of Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. ET, the bid is $1.4 million. However, the listed estimate is between $1.5 million and $2.5 million.
It is no surprise the gold jersey would sell for so much.
Bryant stuffed the stat sheet with 40 points, eight assists, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks in a dominant 100-75 victory that started a relatively straightforward 4-1 victory in the Finals.
It was the most points Bryant scored in a single NBA Finals game and set the tone for what would become his first ring without Shaquille O'Neal.
In all, Bryant won five championships, two NBA Finals MVPs, a league MVP and two scoring titles. He was also an 18-time All-Star, 12-time All-Defensive selection and 15-time All-NBA selection as one of the best players in NBA history.
And now the jersey he wore during one of his defining performances is for sale.
