Curvy and proud of it! Kate Upton opened up to Elle UK about embracing her famous curves and how she responds to people who label her "healthy."
Stunning on the September 2014 cover in a mod ensemble, the Sports Illustrated model, 22, recalled when she first started modeling all she wanted was to "become a woman."
"When I first started modeling, I was a normal catalogue model," Upton, who rose to fame because of her figure, told the mag, "then, I became a woman, and I was really excited … Because I’m from Florida, it’s all about being in bathing suits … You are ugly if you don’t have a curvy body. And I didn’t have one, and then I got one, and thought, 'Yessss!'"
Although The Other Woman actress embraces her voluptuous body, she acknowledges how others consider her "healthy" in the modeling world. "Then people say: "Oh, wow, you're healthy.' And [I'm] like, 'Wait—what? I've been begging for this body my whole life!'"

However, becoming the body that men—and women—ogle over hasn't entirely been an easy feat for the stunner. After landing her first ever Sports Illustrated cover in February 2012 the model admitted she "felt terrible."
"After my first Sports Illustrated cover, I felt terrible about myself for a solid month," she revealed to Elle magazine in September, "Every single guy I met was either married or about to be married, and I felt like I was their bachelor present or something … I'm not a toy, I'm a human, I'm not here to be used. I am a grown woman, and you need to figure your s–t out."
