Wolfsburg confirmed they had secured the services of midfielder Julian Draxler on Monday, completing the German international's transfer saga.

On Saturday, Draxler "went into the locker room after Schalke's 3-0 defeat to Wolfsburg and asked his teammates if he 'looked good in a Wolfsburg shirt,'" reported Bild (h/t Eurosport).

Draxler's move to Wolfsburg came after Juventus dropped their interest in acquiring the midfielder.

"We've kind of abandoned the Draxler option for several reasons, but we're looking for a trequartista," said Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta on Aug. 19, per Football Italia.

Tuttosport (h/t Football Italia) reported Juve had offered an up-front fee of €18 million (£12.68 million) for the Germany international and a further €9 million (£6.34 million) in potential add-ons.

Personal terms were agreed, according to David Amoyal of GianlucaDiMarzio.com, who noted on July 24 that Juventus had "reached an agreement on wages of €3.5 million per season" with the player.

However, Schalke demanded a higher fee for their asset, according to a July 27 report from Ed Aarons of the Guardian.

Draxler was limited to 15 Bundesliga appearances last season after being blighted by injuries, but his experience in Germany's top flight and the Champions League has shown him to be a stellar prospect.
