Formerly of North Versailles, age 82, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022.
Jim was the devoted son of the late Hazel Connors Arendas.
He was the loving husband for nearly 60 years of Judith (Thomas) Pellegrino
and caring father of Judith (Roger) Hartung and Susan (Ralph) Jansen.
Jim leaves behind four adoring grandchildren: Henry (Rachel) Hartung, Harris (Shanique) Hartung, Megan Marett and Alex (Charlotte) Marett.
Jim was a 1957 graduate of Westinghouse Memorial High School and supported his family as a machinist while working at Westinghouse Airbrake Co. in Wilmerding, and later at Motor Coils in Braddock.
Jim lived a full life. In his younger years he enjoyed running, basketball and photography. In later years, he kept up with current events and loved to read about history and politics. Jim treasured his memories of his early years in Wilmerding and the great times with his friends and cousins. His hallmark was his humor and his ability to laugh at himself.
There will not be a public visitation due to Covid-19 concerns.
Following a private Blessing Service, Jim will be laid to rest in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
A public Memorial Gathering will be announced and held in the late spring.
Jim’s family sends deep gratitude for the excellent care and attention given to Jim by the staff on the 3 floor Memory Unit at Promedica in Bethel Park.
